HOW TO HELP YOUTH:
DISCUSS:

Review how creativity has benefited mankind over the centuries.
EXPLORE:

Encourage them to explore and figure things out on their own.

They learn much more.
PRAISE:

Praise them for pointing out problems or setbacks in their lives.
BRAINSTORM:

Brainstorm solutions on how to resolve problems.

They learn to focus on creating successful solutions rather than the problem.

Brainstorming could result in profitable ideas in their future endeavours.
NEW SKILLS:

Encourage them to find and try new skills such as cooking and a new hobby, etc.
HELP:

Assist and encourage them to pursue their interests and passions.
EMBRACE MISTAKES:

Discuss what we learn from our mistakes and how we can enjoy them.
AVOID MANAGING:

Allow them to figure things out for themselves.

Be open-minded and not push your ideas of solutions.
A PARENT’S GUIDE:
Much of the above material is contained in the PARENT’S GUIDE which assists parents and others working with youth.
The guide enables a person to be proactive in the success of a child’s future.
It contains activities to assist youth to gain critical soft skills.
They will become more resourceful and independent when they practice and gain these skills.
