Children are often accused of spending too much time online.
Playing video games and using social media for many hours on end are not healthy.
The attraction of digital devices is not going away. This requires approaches to teach management about these devices. To manage these potentially addictive activities and devices there are many approaches available.
One approach is well-structured online sessions . These offer positive interaction with others. They can be very beneficial to our younger generation.
Here are some benefits of online group sessions.
COMMUNITY BUILDING:
They can build friendships and community online and support each other.
They build communication skills with regular group interaction.
They gain cross-cultural empathy and understanding.
Often, they build friendships with others from diverse backgrounds.
PROMOTING DIVERSITY:
They are able to connect with people from around the world.
They realize that they have many common goals although they have different backgrounds.
This assists them to build a better world as they cooperate on projects.
ONLINE LEARNING SKILLS ARE ENHANCED AS THEY:
Learn the nuances of becoming effective online communicators;
Learn how to organize effective online meetings; and
Learn effective leadership skills in a distributed environment.
FUTURE WORK:
Work in the future will include team members in remote locations.
Knowing effective online techniques will be beneficial.
Top-notch communication and leadership skills are in increasing demand.
Being effective in an online environment will contribute to personal success.
DISTRIBUTED COMPANIES:
More companies are adopting a distributed workforce.
A great example is Automattic, a distributed company founded in 2005. It is known for WordPress, an open-source blogging platform, and other offerings. As of September 2020, it had approximately 1,300 employees distributed around the world.
There is no physical head office.
It is currently valued at about US$3 billion.
Matt Mullenweg, the founder, has a blog entitled, “Distributed” which is about the future of work.
Since the onset of Covid-19, more companies are looking at distributed models. Many companies now realize that remote workers are effective .
HOW WE CAN HELP OUR YOUTH: Anyone interested in helping our youth to gain these valuable skills can reach out to me.
Starting next month, I am offering free online courses to adults to assist them to set up youth groups. They cover how to start online group sessions to assist our youth to gain these valuable skills. These courses are associated with Agora Speakers International . I completely agree with you. With the 4.0 era, it can be seen that young people spend a lot of time using the internet. It’s good that we can create such useful online projects to be able to help them become future leaders. Thank you for your heart for creating these great ideas, I will be sharing this with more young people that I think need help.
