No matter what path you take, communication skills are important.
Great communicators become great leaders.
How does the ability to communicate with others impact our lives?
Why is it so important for our youth to learn how to communicate, work, and cooperate with each other?
We have young talented people in all fields. They are engineers, artists, scientists, musicians, athletes, etc.
Who takes the lead? Who is promoted?
Who often has a successful life?
Is it not the one who can speak and clearly communicate their thoughts and ideas?
This is why it is so important for our youth to learn how to communicate, work, and cooperate with each other.
AGORA SPEAKERS INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION:
Youth participated at the recent Agora Speakers International Agoracon 2021 convention.
There were 11 youth speakers showcased during this four-day convention.
There was
-Trisha, a 17-year-old from Indonesia
-Yumi, a 14-year-old from Tokyo, Japan
-Gasika, Tanvi, Sonia, Sneha, and Arpita, Grade 12 students from Pokhara, Nepal
-Anjali a youth activist, and Shrijan, a child trainer from Province 2, Nepal
-Ian, a university freshman at the National Taiwan University from Taiwan
The icing on the cake for me was watching Nathan, a 10-year-old, Grade 4 student from Victoria, BC Canada. He was the youngest speaker at the convention.
He spoke about some positive aspects resulting from Covid19.
He told us that we have learned that we are in this together and need to look after each other.
Nathan was keen to present a speech. He practiced his speech. He watched TED Talks to help him improve.
He presented an impactful speech.
This experience gave him a boost in his self-confidence.
SPEECH COMPETITIONS:
Also, there were four speech competitions.
These were Educational, Humorous, Social Awareness, and Storytelling speech contests.
Gracie, a talented 16-year-old, competed in three of the competitions. She placed first, second, and third place in those competitions.
She represented three clubs from around the world in which she is active. They were clubs in Indonesia, Romania, and Canada.
Trisha, the 17-year-old from Indonesia placed third in one of the speech contests. She also participated in some of the entertainment programs.
The ability of our youth to communicate is a skill that will assist them throughout their lives.
It is pleasing to see that Agora Speakers International recognizes them and offers them opportunities to participate.
